Partial Withdrawals and loans cannot be taken on these products. Since they are whole life pure risk policies, they do not have investment components on them. Hence partial withdrawal cannot be made on them. However, you can get a cash back after 5 years if there is no claim.

Since both policies are pure risk policies, you can surrender your policy, should you wish not to continue. However, you would not get any cash value after surrender.

Withdrawal of only interest component of our Smart Target and Child Education policies is not possible. Instead, you can make a partial withdrawal or request for a loan. For you to reap the benefit of having our policies, we advise that you wait until your policy matures (the end of the policy term).

You can cover up to four (4) children under the Family Protection Policy

You are entitled to a statement once every six months. You can make this request by going to any of our branches. You can also give us a call, requesting for a statement and we will gladly assist you.

The waiver of premium benefit takes effect after the death of the policyholder and it allows the policy to be active. Vanguard Life assumes full responsibility of premium payment until the maturity date of the policy. During this period, 25% of sum assured can be taken every year from 1 to 4 years, depending on the maturity date. This is known as child support benefit. When the policy matures, the full maturity benefit is paid.

Due to surrender charges, you will not receive your total premium you have paid for your policy. The charges however depend on the period from which your policy incepted to the time you make a surrender claim. These charges are applied to your investment balance.

By no way of limitation, the following may be required:

  • A valid medical certificate of cause of death
  • Death certificate
  • Policy document
  • Police report in the case of accidental deaths especially during the waiting period
  • A valid ID (Ghana Card, Voters ID, Passport, Driver’s License)

We call our clients periodically when premium payments are missed for a period of time. This helps inform family members and/or beneficiaries, for them to make a claim.

If you would like to put a hold on premium payments due to financial constraints, kindly inform us by coming to our offices or writing to us. Please specify the period with which you would want to halt the payments and the date you would want to resume. It is important to remember that you will be required to pay all outstanding premiums when you resume premium payments.
